(ARS) took part in MARA Automotive Ecosystem (MATEC) 2025, one of the signature automotive showcases under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) and MARA, held from 31 October to 2 November 2025 at Stadium Bukit Jalil. The event brought together TVET institutions, training providers, and automotive industry players, all working towards strengthening Malaysia’s transition to Electric Vehicle (EV) technology and modern automotive skill development. ARS participated under the GIATMARA and Malaysia China Institute (MCI) joint booth, focusing on real, hands-on EV learning solutions for training centres.
CHINA - From 23 to 29 October 2025, a Malaysian delegation embarked on the Lawatan Pemantauan dan Benchmark Teknologi Maju TVET ke China held in conjunction with the World Young Scientist Summit (WYSS) 2025 in Wenzhou. This strategic visit aimed to strengthen Malaysia’s TVET ecosystem by observing how China integrates ad-vanced technologies such as Smart Manufacturing, CNC Maintenance, Robotics, IoT, Electric Vehicles (EV), and Hy-drogen Mobility into vocational training.
IPOH - Advance Retro Solution Sdn. Bhd. (ARS) proudly participated in the EKSPO TVET @ KKDW 2025, held from 10 to 12 October 2025 at the Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC), Perak. CHINA - A joint Malaysian delegation representing the nation’s technical agencies, academia, and industry embarked on a strategic benchmarking visit to China from 21st to 26th September 2025, engaging with some of the country’s most prominent technology providers and leading technical institutions.
The visit focused on exploring and benchmarking advanced technology training methodologies across critical sectors such as Smart Manufacturing, Facility Maintenance, CNC Maintenance, the Internet of Things (IoT), Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology, and Hydrogen / Fuel-Cell Vehicles (FCEV) — all key enablers of Malaysia’s Industry 4.0 and green mobility agenda.
KUCHING - The Green Mobility Innovation Summit 2025, held from 8–9 September 2025 at Imperial Hotel, Kuching, Sarawak, brought together innovators, educators, and industry experts to explore Malaysia’s transition toward a greener and more technologically advanced future. The event, themed “Sustaining Skills for a Greener Tomorrow”, served as a collaborative platform to promote clean mobility, automation, and digital transformation within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem.

PUCHONG - On 26th and 27th August 2025, Advance Retro Solution Sdn Bhd (ARS) welcomed a group of 10 students and 2 accompanying instructors from GIATMARA Bagan Datuk for a Lawatan Sambil Belajar (Educational Visit) focusing on EV Fundamentals and Technology Exploration. The visit formed part of ARS’s commitment to supporting TVET institutions by exposing students to the latest technologies in electric vehicles (EVs) and bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry applications.
KUALA LUMPUR - Advance Retro Solution Sdn. Bhd. (ARS) proudly participated in the ASEAN TVET Conference (ATVET) 2025, held on 13–14 August 2025 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL). The participation was by invitation from the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), the official organiser of the event. The invitation reflected HRD Corp’s recognition of ARS as a strategic partner in supporting Malaysia’s TVET transformation agenda. PUTRAJAYA - Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) and Advance Retro Solution Sdn. Bhd. (ARS) officially entered into a collaborative partnership through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a prestigious event held at the HWUM campus in Putrajaya. The ceremony was organized in conjunction with the official launch of HWUM’s Master of Engineering (MEng) in Robotic and Mechatronic Engineering programme on 26 July 2025. The MoU was signed between Professor Mushtak Al-Atabi, Provost and Chief Executive Officer of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, and Mr. Lai Kim Wa, Managing Director of ARS. This partnership signifies a joint commitment to advancing engineering education and industrial collaboration through shared knowledge, applied research, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies. The agreement lays the groundwork for future engagement between the Heriot-Watt University and ARS, especially in the areas of robotics, smart manufacturing, and potentially Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies.
DUNGUN - Advance Retro Solution Sdn. Bhd. (ARS) and Politeknik Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (PSMZA) officially entered into a collaborative partnership through the signing of Letter of Intent (LoI) on 15 July 2025 at Dungun, Terengganu. The signing signifies a mutual commitment between both parties to strengthen technical and vocational education (TVET) in line with current and future industrial demands. The LOI reflects a shared vision to prepare graduates who are equipped with relevant, real-world skills aligned with industrial advancements, particularly in smart manufacturing and electric vehicle (EV) technologies.
CYBERJAYA– On 10 July 2025, Thursday, participants from public and technical institutions gathered at Advance Retro Solution Sdn. Bhd., (ARS) for the impactful ICE to EV Transformation course held in conjunction with National Training Week (NTW) 2025, an initiative by HRD Corp. The session focused on building foundational knowledge in electric vehicle (EV) technology and the shift from internal combustion engine (ICE) systems.
The course provided a concise yet comprehensive introduction to EV technology, highlighting the differences between ICE and EV vehicles, their environmental impact, and the importance of green mobility in addressing climate challenges. Participants explored key EV classifications such as BEV, HEV, PHEV, and FCEV, as well as core components like batteries, inverters, motors, controllers, and drivetrains.
SHAH ALAM - Pertandingan Pra WorldSkills Malaysia Belia (WSMB) 2025 – CNC Maintenance (Demo) category took place on 17–18 June 2025 at Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skills Training (CIAST) in Shah Alam. This competition is part of the government’s initiative under the Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources (JPK) to nurture young technical talents and prepare them for international-level competitions—providing a platform for students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios and gain valuable exposure to industrial tasks. This year, CNC Maintenance has been chosen as one of the competition field (Demo), first time in WSMB. Advance Retro Solution (ARS) supported JPK as one of the judge from industry, working closely with the judge panels represented from CIAST, GMI and IKTBN Bukit Mertajam.
AYER KEROH - As one of the MoC partner with Majlis TVET Negara (MTVET), Advance Retro Solution Sdn. Bhd. (ARS) was honoured to be part of the Hari TVET Negara 2025, showcasing latest TVET training technologies which taken place in Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) from 11 to 13 June 2025. Hari TVET Negara 2025 was a nationwide initiative led by MTVET to strengthen awareness, collaboration, and innovation in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem. This prestigious national event brought together leading TVET institutions, technology providers, ministries, and industry players in a celebration of Malaysia’s progress in technical education and innovation. ARS was proud to be featured as the technology partner under two key clusters - Sektor Pengangkutan & Automotif (in EV - Electric Vehicle) and Sektor Pembuatan Termaju – reflecting its deep commitment to future-proofing Malaysia’s skilled workforce.
SERDANG - The Malaysia Autoshow 2025, held from 9 to 15 May 2025 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), became a dynamic platform for Advance Retro Solution Sdn. Bhd. (ARS) to showcase its innovative education and training technologies. Hosted at the MARii Pavilion in Hall D, ARS took center stage among leading automotive and technology exhibitors to demonstrate how TVET-driven education can power Malaysia's shift toward electric mobility and Industry 4.0.
SUBANG JAYA – As part of the efforts to strengthen TVET skills in line with Industry 4.0 demands, a specialized Manufacturing Digitalization Training was conducted from 21 to 24 April 2025 at Taylor’s University, Subang Jaya. The program trained 8 participants from KKTM Balik Pulau and was designed to enhance knowledge and practical skills in PLC connectivity to IoT Gateways and IIoT integration into a smart manufacturing system. The training was conducted by Advance Retro Solution (ARS) and supported by Taylor’s University.
KUALA LUMPUR – As a proactive step in strengthening national expertise in Internet of Things (IoT), a 5-day training program titled "Kemahiran Integrasi Pintar dengan Model Internet of Things YL-73B" was conducted from 7 to 11 April 2025 , hosted at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) WorldSkills IoT, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT).
SHAH ALAM - On 24 April 2025, Thursday, educators and technology partners gathered at DMG MORI Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Shah Alam, for the highly anticipated TVET–Manufacturing Education Day. The event aimed to foster collaboration between advanced manufacturing leaders and technical education institutions to strengthen Malaysia’s workforce for Industry 4.0 and beyond.
CHINA - In alignment with Malaysia's goal to become a regional leader in green mobility, ten technical instructors from GIATMARA and MARA participated in a month-long Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) training program in Beijing, China. These included representatives from GIATMARA Sabak Bernam, GIATMARA Bagan Datoh, GIATMARA Tanjong Malim, GIATMARA Tapah, GIATMARA Mersing, KKTM MasjId Tanah, as well as IKM Lumut, IKM Jasin, and IKM Kuching. Held from 26 February to 25 March 2025, this program was organized in collaboration with Beifang Automotive Education and supported by Advance Retro Solution (ARS), reflecting a strategic effort to upskill local TVET educators in cuttingedge electric vehicle technologies.
CYBEERJAYA - Thursday, on 20 February 2025, a high-level delegation from Johor, comprising representatives from Belia Mahir, Invest Johor, Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), Johor Skills Development Centre, and ILP Pasir Gudang, conducted a benchmarking visit to Advance Retro Solution (ARS) at the Malaysia Automotive Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii), Cyberjaya. The objective of this visit was to gain deeper insights into the advanced modern automotive training facilities, specifically for Electric Vehicles (EVs), provided by ARS and to explore their potential in enhancing training quality and workforce development in technology-driven industries.
JERANTUT - The Department of Human Resources (JTM) successfully organized the Creativity & Innovation Technology Competition (CITEC) 2025, which took place on 12 and 13 February 2025, at the Advanced Technology Training Center (ADTEC) Jerantut, Pahang. This event was part of the JTM Technology and Creativity Carnival 2025, featuring the latest innovations and technological advancements across various industrial sectors.
CHINA- From November 4 to November 29, 2024, a group of four participants from Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara Petaling Jaya (KKTM PJ) embarked on Internet of Things (IoT) training program at Yalong Group, Wenzhou, China. The program offered a comprehensive hands-on experience in advanced IoT systems, technologies, and solutions, focusing on building the technical skills required for today's connected world. In addition to practical sessions, the participants visited Lishui Vocational and Technical College and Anfang Vocational College, exploring cutting-edge technologies and enhancing their learning experience.
CHINA - A key collaboration between Malaysia and China, has been instrumental in developing a skilled workforce for the lift and escalator maintenance industry. Over the course of one month, from 4 November till 29 November 2024, 2 participants from Giatmara Petaling Jaya and 1 participant from Unit Inovasi & kreativiti Giatmara were immersed in hands-on training, learning advanced technical skills and safety procedures vital for maintaining lift and escalator systems. It is also one of the government initiative to train competent Malaysian trainers in Facility Maintenance for MCI (Malaysia China Institute), leveraging technology transfer from China to Malaysia.
CHINA - The LATIHAN LANJUTAN TENAGA PENGAJAR TVET MARA in SMART MANUFACTURING training program, organized in collaboration with Advance Retro Solution Sdn Bhd (ARS) and GIATMARA, is a specialized initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) of five educators in the field of Smart Manufacturing. Scheduled from 4 November to 27 December 2024, the program runs a total of 40 days in Wenzhou, China. Representing GIATMARA Petaling Jaya (Selatan), GIATMARA Batu Pahat, GIATMARA Bayan Lepas, and Institut Kemahiran MARA Lumut, the instructors were equipped with critical skills to modernize Malaysia’s technical and vocational education curriculum. This initiative, organized by Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College, aimed to enhance the participants' knowledge and hands-on expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 practices. It is also one of the government initiative to train competent Malaysian trainers in Smart Manufacturing for MCI (Malaysia China Institute), leveraging technology transfer from China to Malaysia.
CHINA - From 9 December to 20 December 2024, a team of 10 students from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) embarked on an inspiring two-week journey to Wenzhou Vocational College of Science & Technology, China, to participate in an intensive Smart Agriculture Training Program. This initiative was designed to enhance participants' knowledge and hands-on experience in the field of smart farming technologies. The training reflected the shared vision of advancing sustainable and tech-driven agricultural practices between Malaysia and China.
CHINA - 20 students and 4 lecturers from Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran Johor (KYPJ) and the Johor Skills Development Centre (JSDC) participated in the Industrial Automation Training Program, which took place at Zhejiang College of Security Technology (ZJCST) in China from 25 November to 7 December 2024. This initiative, which was organized by Advance Retro Solution Sdn Bhd (ARS) in partnership with Yalong and with supported from Belia Mahir, aimed to develop talent and strengthen technical capabilities for Industry 4.0.
KUANTAN - Taklimat Menambah-baik NOSS Industrial Automation dan Sektor Manufacturing dengan Kandungan IR4.0 Manufacturing Digitalization, was an event focused on the future of industrial automation and manufacturing digitalization which took place at Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA Kuantan (KKTM Kuantan) on 26 November 2024. The Seminar was a key gathering for industry experts, educators, and government representatives to explore the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies in the manufacturing sector. Organized by Advance Retro Solutions (ARS) and in partnership with the Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK) and also cooperation from KKTM Kuantan, the event aimed to provide a deep dive into the latest developments in smart manufacturing systems, automation, and IoT integration in the production line.
CYBERJAYA - The Taklimat TVET Auto in Electric Vehicle, held on 8 November 2024 at the Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), brought together key stakeholders in the automotive and education sectors to discuss the role of TVET in driving Malaysia’s transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs). The event featured presentations on skills development, policy updates, and the latest advancements in EV technologies, with a special focus on fostering collaboration between industries and education providers.
CHINA - Malaysia was once again invited to attend the World Young Scientist Summit, in year 2024, focusing on global TVET collaboration strategy and idea exchange, from 12th to 15th Nov 2024 at Wenzhou, China, after joining the first WYSS on 2023. Out of almost 400 delegates, Malaysia topped the rank with biggest number of international delegates participating the program, with near to 30 representatives from National TVET Council (MTVET), Department of Skills Development, Department of Human Resources, UTEM, UKM, Tafe College, Sultan Azlan Shah Polytechnic, Industrial Training Institutes from Kuantan, Pasir Gudang and Kota Kinabalu, as well as Malaysia Automotive Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii) and Advance Retro Solution (ARS). The group was headed by Ir. Ts. Dr. Azmi bin Ahmad, Deputy Director General (Development), Department of Skills Development (JPK).
WENZHOU, CHINA - A total of 18 participants, representing 15 institutions and 5 government ministries, have successfully undergone comprehensive hands-on training from 16 September to 15 October 2024, making significant strides in mastering Electric Vehicles (EV) technology. Hosted by Yalong, in collaboration with Zhejiang College of Security Technology, this one-month intensive training covers essential areas of EV technology. Each participant dedicated themselves to learning and applying the latest EV technologies, further strengthening Malaysia's future in the electric vehicle industry.
MELAKA - MARA (Majlis Amanah Rakyat) and ARS (Advance Retro Solution Sdn Bhd) has exchanged the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) of Skilled Talents Development in TVET Training, in conjunction of TVET@KKDW Expo 2024, on 27th Sep at MITC (Melaka International Trade Centre). The symbolic moment was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, as well as National TVET Committee Chairman, together with Datuk Hajah Rubiah binti Haji Wang, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Muhd Khair Razman bin Mohamed Annuar, Secretary-General of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi bin Dato’ Dusuki, Chairman of MARA, and others ministries and MARA’s top management. Ir Nuriman bin Yusop, Director of the Skills and Technical Division, representing MARA to handover the MoU to ARS.
BANTING - Ministry of Human Resources and ARS (Advance Retro Solution Sdn Bhd) has exchanged the MoC (Memorandum of Cooperation) of TVET Transformation in conjunction of National TVET Day 2024, on 8th June at ILP (Institut Latihan Perindustrian) Kuala Langat. The MoC was exchanged from Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong to ARS, witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who is also the National TVET Committee Chairman, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.
BANGI - A solid industrial-academic collaboration was established in software digitalization at UKM, following with the MoU signed & exchanged between Mr. Zach Lee Ming Yew (Regional Channel Sales Director) from Siemens Industry Software (Siemens), Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Syuhaimi Ab Rahman (Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Mr. Aminder Singh (Head, Engineering Solutions Division) from Hitachi Sunway (HSS) and Mr. Lai Kim Wa (Operating Director) from Advance Retro Solution (ARS).
BEHRANG - As positive initiative in deepening TVET collaboration, Ts. Mohd Zulkefli bin Ibrahim (Director) from Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah (PSAS) exchanged Letter of Intent (LoI) with Mr. David Leow (Sales Director) from Advance Retro Solution (ARS), on 30th May 2024, in conjunction with the TVET Perak Carnival 2024 held in PSAS. The exchange session was witnessed by YB Khairudin Bin Abu Hanipah, Perak State Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee Chairman.
CYBERJAYA - The Technical Briefing of ‘IR4.0 NOW & FUTURE – SMART MANUFACTURING DIGITALIZATION IN TVET’ received encouraging participation from TVET institutions who are keen to explore and materialize the cyber-physical of manufacturing environment into training system, on 17 April 2024.
HULU LANGAT - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) is collaborating with the National Youth Institute of Higher Skills (IKTBN) in Dusun Tua to introduce Hybrid and Electric Vehicle (EV) Maintenance courses starting February 2024, aimed to help young people become more competitive in the EV sector. Currently IKTBN Dusun Tua EV lab is equipped with Yalong EV training systems in Powertrain, Battery Management, High Voltage, etc. in the training lab.
PUTRAJAYA - The international TVET collaboration between JPK (Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran - Department of Skills Development) and Advance Retro Solution Sdn Bhd (ARS) was further deepening, following with the MoU exchange session held on 5th March 2024, at Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya, in conjunction with the Tripartite Seminar 2024 ‘Greater TVET Future Talent: Facing the Changing World of Work’.
CYBERJAYA - Malaysia were invited to attend the World Young Scientist Summit 2023 - 4th Belt & Road Talent Cultivation Forum from 8th to 9th Nov 2023, at Wenzhou, China.
The forum received more than 500 experts, ministry officer and academic representatives from China and overseas. Delegation from Malaysia were represented by Department Skills Development (JPK), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Taylor’s University as well as University College TATI who recently signed the international collaboration MoU with Yalong, Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College (China) & Advance Retro Solution (Malaysia).
CYBERJAYA - More than 100 TVET lecturers were exposed to training methodology of Malaysia’s key industrial clusters in Electric Vehicle (EV), IR4.0 (Smart Manufacturing with IIoT) & HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), on Oct 2023.
CYBERJAYA - Total of 120 local and overseas guests participated the TVET Towards IR4.0 (Digitalization of the Teaching Factory) Seminar, which was officiated by Dr Mohd Faizal bin Tokeran, Director of TVET Coordination, Ministry of Human Resources (KSM), who represented the Ministry’s Secretary General (KSU), Datuk Seri Dr Zaini bin Ujang, on 20 July 2023.
In order to stay competitive and productive globally or even locally, more and more manufacturing companies are moving into production digitalization, with the help of IOT software, machine and automation system integration into Cloud. This lead to a huge demand of relevant skilled talents from academia. A sharing session was organized on 7th Oct 2022, at ADTEC Shah Alam, by showcasing how this is working in real system and machine.
With the world has now gradually entering endemic of Covid-19, industry start picking up again and the market is regaining synergy under new normal. It is time to resume the digitalization journey, not only industry but also the academic sectors, in order to produce skilled talents which are industrial and digitally-competent.
